Why hello! I hope you're having a fabulous day! I want to start off by saying thank you for your support and welcome, you're officially a part of the tribe! My blog is dedicated to anyone who feels they are suppressing who they are. That may be because you're intimidated by the pressures and opinions of others, or because you've been telling yourself that you aren't capable of what you really want. My ultimate goal is to help you shatter those stigmas and encourage you to do more that truly makes you feel good.
A while back, I found myself in a serious rut because I realized I had been doing so much to make others happy with my life choices, that I didn't know who I was anymore. There were so many things that I knew I wanted to try, but didn't out of fear. I love my family and friends to death, but what they had envisioned for me didn't align with who I knew deep down I wanted to be. After being lost and burnt out for over a year, I decided that it was time for me to take my life back.
Crazy as it may seem, the very things I had been convinced were unnecessary and wasteful, are the same things that brought joy back to my life. It's ok if your hobbies differ from everyone you know currently, it just means that in the future you're going to meet more people with the same interests. Don't think because other people are doing the same things you're skilled at, that those aren't skills. When you start being true to yourself, everything else falls into place.
It's up to you to discover who you are and what truly brings you happiness. In my case, it was something as simple as dressing how I wanted to that triggered my clarity. Once I stopped worrying about being overdressed and what people would think, the fog separating me from other interests I came to love cleared completely. I truly believe that when you look good you feel good. I even learned that when I didn't feel good but continue to look my best, by the end of the day I would feel AMAZING! Complete strangers would stop me and tell me they could feel the joy in my energy and it made them feel good also!
So, my task for you today is try something you've been putting off or hesitant to do. Do it as consistently as possible for the next 3 days. If you find you absolutely love it, I'm so proud of you for connecting with a new hobby. If not, I'm still proud of you for marking something off your list! It's better to try the things you're interested in and know it's not for you, than never trying and spending your life wondering how it could have been.
